The Hunters Point Ledger exists because one resident wanted to actually understand what’s happening in this neighborhood — not just hear about it, but understand it.
LIC and Hunters Point South are changing fast. Permits get filed, buildings go up, retail turns over, parks get funded or don’t, community board votes happen with almost no one watching. Most of that change goes unexplained. The Ledger exists to explain it.
We cover development, infrastructure, civic process, public space, schools, and the slow patterns beneath neighborhood change. We’re not breaking news. We’re not outrage. We’re not generic Queens coverage. We’re the neighbor who read the ULURP application so you don’t have to.
HPL is independently owned and operated by a Hunters Point South resident. We will begin accepting advertising from local businesses. We have no outside funding and no editorial agenda beyond understanding the neighborhood we live in.
