No 2026 Fireworks at Gantry State Park

Every year, the Hunters Point South waterfront draws crowds from across the city hoping to catch the Macy’s July 4th fireworks. This year, those making the trip to Gantry Plaza State Park will be out of luck as the fireworks barges will be south of the Brooklyn Bridge and in the Hudson River.

Gantry State Park is trying to get ahead of this, and are giving a heads-up for neighbors and visitors alike: for those planning to watch the Macy’s July 4th fireworks, you can’t see them from Gantry State Park.

For its 50th anniversary, the show is expanding: barges will launch from the lower East River near the Seaport District, the lower Hudson River in partnership with Jersey City, and the Brooklyn Bridge itself. That puts the action significantly south of where it’s been visible from the HPS waterfront in past years.

New York State Parks has posted signs at the park alerting visitors before they make the trip.

If you want to watch the Macy’s July 4th Fireworks go to Brooklyn.
