Queens Community Board 2 is accepting applications for public members, non-voting positions that let residents, workers, and local business owners serve on board committees without going through the full CB member appointment process.
Public members can apply to any of CB2’s eight committees, including Transportation, Land Use and Housing, and Environment, Parks and Recreation. Applicants must live in the district, work in the district, or have another connection to CB2’s coverage area of Long Island City, Sunnyside, Hunters Point, and Woodside.

The board is prioritizing Public Member applicants from groups underrepresented on the board or in city government, as well as people with relevant subject-matter expertise. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis through August 15, with appointments announced by September 1.
